About Me

I am a grandmother of six wiggling grandchildren and am semi-retired on Manitoulin Island along with my husband who spends his time fishing and feeding everyone he can! We have a 12 year old grandson who shares our lives on 3 acres of bush land in Northern Canada. I have three daughters who have families of their own and provide me with much joy. Bringing up a daughter with developmental disabilities and now a grandson as well, has made us very aware of the need and desire of people like them, to be a part of regular community activities. I wanted to advocate for the inclusion with integrity of all those with differences within an inclusive, caring community. In a small way, we are working to that end, with the help of several dedicated friends who join us on Sunday nights for a family meal and games night at St Francis Anglican Church in Mindemoya. We often have 25 friends enjoying themselves on a Sunday night. As I journey, I am blessed with many wonderful gifts that I would love to begin sharing with you! It is my humble belief that as I am obedient to the Spirit, I am blessed with His creativity which flows through my fingers.

Your people want to make a statue in your honor. What will it be made out of and what victory will it commemorate?

A statue in my honour will not be made rather, I will be known for the footprints made in my community which will be remembered in everyone's hearts. When those who know me are gone from this side of the veil, others will carry on what has been remembered... the victory being love and equality in each others lives carried out by footprints of all who have been touched.
